Back in Italy

Hi everyone,

We just wanted to thank you all for your participation in the workshops last week. It was a great opportunity for us to get to know some English language teachers in Ethiopia and also to see a bit of your beautiful country. We are now back in Italy and getting used to our daily routines again. We are looking forward to hearing how you get on with your CALL activity, please remember to keep us updated, with comments to this post and links to your personal or teaching blogs.

US Presidential Elections

Next week, on November 6th, we will have the elections for the president of the United States. The candidates are Barak Obama and Mitt Romney. If you were American, who would you vote for and why? If you don't know much about these candidates, explore the Internet using the names as searches in Google.
Once you've decided, please leave a comment to this post. If you are not the first person to comment, please read what the others before you have written and respond to their comments.

Hello!

We are Francesca Helm and Sarah Guth, English language teacher-researchers at the University of Padova, Italy. We've been involved in computer-assisted language learning (CALL) and computer-mediated communication (CMC) for over ten years. We use technology in the classroom to give students access to  opportunities for more authentic language learning beyond the classroom through online materials and interacting with people in other parts of the world. We're really looking forward to coming to Adama and would like to learn something about you and your teaching context in the next few weeks as we prepare to come over. Please leave a comment to this post in which you tell us who you are, what you teach, and how you use or would like to integrate CALL in your specific context.
